Artist's Description
I took this picture of a black vulture while I was sitting down in front of a freshwater Florida pond. There were 10 to 15 of them that were near me. Two were curious and came close. One even came up to look inside my camera bag. This species feeds primarily on dead animals and have had no interest in living human beings. Perhaps, I should have been more cautious, but I felt no animosity, threat or danger from them. It was quite an experience I will never forget.
